Mrs. Stacey Brandes - Fifth Grade Teacher

I have taught in Catholic schools since graduating from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1981. I started my career at Our Lady of Sorrows School in New Jersey, where I taught for 6 years. I moved to Vermont 3 months after marrying my husband, John, in April of 1987. I taught at St. Joseph School for 22 years until its closing. I came to St. Francis in 2010.

My husband and I live in South Burlington. Our son, Taylor, graduated from South Burlington High School in 2009 and from Lehigh University in 2013. He is currently a graduate student at Harvard in their architect and design program. Our daughter, Chandler, graduated from South Burlington High School in 2015. She attends and swims for the University of Vermont.

In my spare time, I love to read, take long walks and shorter walks with my dog, Sprocket, spend time with my family, cheer for the New York Giants and Yankees, and travel throughout New England for Chandler’s swim meets. You can often find me in the stands cheering for the UVM girls.

I am truly blessed to teach in a Catholic school. I have taught and met so many wonderful students and families and worked with some exceptional people over the years. Even after all these years, I still look forward to teaching each and every day.
