Mrs. Robin McCormick - Director of Development
I have had the privilege of serving in the Saint Francis Xavier Development Office since the fall of 2010, but my connection to the school goes back to 1986 when the oldest of my seven children entered kindergarten here. For the past 28 years I have been a parent, a member of the School Board, and a volunteer at a gazillion school events (that’s a rough estimate) before ending up in the Development Office.
I grew up in Ohio, graduating from Ohio University with a B.A. in English. I graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 1978. Immediately following graduation, I married a very cute law school classmate, Tom McCormick, and moved to his home state – beautiful Vermont. Tom and I practiced law together at McCormick, Fitzpatrick, Kasper and Burchard for twenty years until I took the world’s longest maternity leave in 1999 when our youngest child arrived.
Our pastor, Monsignor Lavalley, was concerned I would be bored with only seven children to tend to, so he kindly asked me to return to the School Board at that time. My current position in the Development Office allows me to spend time with a wonderful community of students, teachers, staff, parents, volunteers, and incredibly generous benefactors, for which I am very grateful. My grandchildren and grand-nephews currently attend SFX, enabling me to see the 4th generation of our family in action here.
In my spare time I . . .well, I’m not sure. I haven’t had any spare time for the past few decades!
