Afterschool Program

At Saint Francis Xavier School we strive to educate the whole person and our Afterschool Program, which offers after-school, vacation and summer care for students, is part of that process.

We offer students a snack and drink each day. Students are then allowed free time to explore new ideas with their peers. We spend a great deal of time playing outside as well. During inclement weather we play games in the gym. Activities include arts and crafts, special games of bingo, board games, Lego station as well as other fun games. We have little parties to celebrate Christmas and Valentine Day. As well as Friday Fun days, during which the students get a special little treat and a movie. During vacations we have weekly themes and usually end the week with a baking project.

  • Monday through Friday, from the dismissal of school until 5:30pm.

  • The program corresponds with the school calendar for each academic year.

  • The Afterschool Program separates children into two groups based on grade level to ensure that activities are age appropriate.

  • At the end of the day dismissal, younger children are escorted from their classroom to the Afterschool Program room by a staff member.

During our summer program we have weekly themes with fun activities to correlate to those themes. We also take a field trip to a VT Lake Monsters game as well as a trip to Bayside Beach. The final week is traditionally a Carnival Week when we enjoy a visit from the ice cream truck, the Big Blue Trunk and/or Joey the Clown.
