Mrs. Micky LaBonte - Pre-Kindergarten Teacher

I started teaching at Saint Francis Xavier School in the fall of 2013, but my history with the school goes back much further than that.

I grew up in Winooski, surrounded by my grandparents and aunts and uncles.  While attending Saint Francis Xavier as a child, I walked to my grandparents’ house for lunch everyday and spent most weekends there.  I still frequent that very same house on weekends and whenever I can!

I graduated from Burlington High School, received an Associates Degree in Business from Champlain College, and a teaching degree at CCV.  I operated a registered home daycare from my home in Colchester for 19 years.  During that time, I helped raise and educate dozens of children.  I've spent most of my adult life influencing and teaching infants, toddlers, and young people. It's my life's work. It has uniquely prepared me for my role in Pre-K at SFX, and there is nothing I would rather do.

My family history with the school runs deep.  For several generations, my family has worshipped, volunteered, and worked for the SFX Parish and School.  This school is an important part of our lives. It means a lot to me to have the opportunity to give something back to a place that holds such a special spot in my heart and the hearts of my family.

I love to draw, garden and travel.  I have a huge garden in my backyard every year and I enjoy spending time in it.  I treasure my time with my husband, Wayne, and two college-age children, Tyler and Kacey. With our soon-to-be empty nest, I will have even more time to focus on my goal of making the Saint Francis Xavier Pre-K classroom even more amazing!
