Mr. Craig Hill - Principal
Assuming the role of Principal at Saint Francis Xavier School in the summer of 2021 was a tremendous privilege and a continuation of my journey in Catholic education. I feel blessed that the journey has brought me to this very special community of learning and faith. Prior to my role as principal, I was the middle school social studies teacher in 2016 and served as the lead teacher in middle school from 2019-2021.
I lived just outside of Philadelphia before moving to Middlebury, Vt. in 2012. I grew up an avid Philadelphia sports fan and enjoyed Phillies partial season tickets with my twin brother for several years. Currently, I enjoy hiking with my wife and three children -- while still following my favorite sports teams from a distance.
I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education (cum laude) from Gwynedd-Mercy University, where I saw firsthand the positive impact that a Catholic school can have on the lives of students. Before moving to Vermont, I taught high school social studies in an alternative school setting for the school district of Philadelphia. My first teaching job in the Green Mountain State was at St. Mary’s School in Middlebury, where I taught 5th and 6th grade, and served briefly as interim principal. l have nearly twenty years of teaching and administrative experience at the elementary, middle and high school levels, teaching 5th grade, 6th grade, MS math, MS religion, MS social studies, and HS social studies.
I am grateful that I have the opportunity to combine my deep commitment to my faith and the mission to teach in light of Christ.
