Mrs. Alex Lovejoy - Second Grade Teacher

Hi, I am Alexandra Lovejoy, and I am thrilled to be back in the classroom as the 2nd-grade teacher in the Saint Francis Xavier community. My journey in education, specifically in Catholic education, began when I was in Kindergarten at Saint Joseph School in Burlington, where I remained until 8th grade.
I attended the University of Tampa, where I earned a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. While there, I served as president of the Education Honors Society and as a research assistant to the Head of the Education Department. While assisting the Department Head, we were blessed to have a research opportunity in Finland, where we studied their world-renowned education system.
I have worked in grades K, 1, and 3, and this is my 13th year as a classroom teacher! I was the 1st grade and Kindergarten teacher here at SFX for 7 years. I most recently was in the Champlain Islands where I was a classroom teacher, served on the Professional Development planning committee, was a district workshop facilitator, and a new Teacher mentor/educator. I was honored to be awarded the Teacher of the Year award for the 24-25 school year for the district, as well as being recognized as a UVM Outstanding Educator in November. I am currently completing my Master's in Curriculum Design and Instruction through Louisiana State University. I will graduate in May 2026!
I love to bring movement, art, and rhythm into the classroom, and the students seem to like it too! I am looking forward to sharing my Catholic faith once again with the children of SFX.
I am happy to be back at SFX with my own two children! When I am not teaching, you can catch me cheering on the sidelines of my kids' activities with my husband, at the pool or lake, gardening, and baking.
