Siobhan Eagan - Fourth Grade

My name is Siobhan Eagan and I am so excited to be part of the St. Francis Xavier community! I graduated from the University of Vermont with a Bachelors in English Literature and a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. I completed my student teaching at Mount Abraham Union Middle and High School where I was able to work with students in grades seven through twelve. This experience made me realize how much I loved teaching and also how much I missed the faith-based education I received as a child.
I grew up in Vermont and attended St. Mary’s in Middlebury. I was so fortunate to have St. Francis’s own Craig Hill as my fifth grade teacher. The discipline, work ethic, and integrity that I gained over those years is why I couldn’t be more excited to work with the fourth graders at St. Francis Xavier. I want to not only build a classroom of lifelong learners, but a classroom of considerate, kind, and respectful children. The motto at my former school was ‘Integrity for Life.’ I remind myself of this motto everyday that I walk through those SFX doors. Thus I am reminded of the crucial values instilled in me at such a young age and how those values later enabled me to become the learner, citizen, and educator that I am today.
When I’m not in the classroom I can be found knitting a new scarf, curling up with a good book, or traveling to America's many beautiful national parks. On the weekends you may even be able to catch me in Burlington working at The Daily Planet!
I am ecstatic to be part of the SFX community and help my students become confident learners, champions for Christ, and knowledgeable members of our community.
