Mrs. Jackie Becker - Spanish

IMG_7168.jpg

I joined the St. Francis Xavier Community in 2017 and I am so happy to be here teaching Spanish :-)

I grew up in Nashua, New Hampshire and attended Catholic schools for eight years and graduated high school from Presentation of Mary Academy in Hudson, NH. I received a B.A. in Communication and French from the University of NH and later earned my Spanish Teacher Certification. I earned my B.S. in Education and French Teacher Certification from the University of North Dakota.

I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to study and travel abroad. I spent a college semester in Paris, France at the Institute of European Studies and at the University of Paris-Sorbonne, and a summer in Avignon, France at the Institute for American Universities.

For many years, I taught both French and Spanish. In addition to teaching, I have also worked as a youth minister with The National Evangelization Team, a Catholic youth ministry based in St. Paul, MN, conducting retreats for middle and high school students across the country.

I moved to Vermont in 2015 when I married my husband, Duane. I also serve as the Social Secretary on the Franklin County Right to Life Committee, and as a Board Member on Vermont Right to Life Committee. I was adopted through NH Catholic Charities as an infant, so the sanctity of life has always been so special to me.

To be able to share my Catholic faith, while I teach Spanish to our youth, makes me so happy :-)

Thank you God and thank you SFX family!
